Position Summary

HeraHealth is seeking a Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer to lead all technical development of the company. This is a founding-level equity role reporting directly to the CEO. The CTO will own the company's technical strategy, advance the existing core technology towards regulatory clearance and clinical deployment, and build the engineering function as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities

Set and execute the technical vision and roadmap for the company.
Lead continued development of the company's proprietary computer vision and machine learning model.
Drive the technical work required to support FDA Pre-Submission and clearance, in coordination with the company's regulatory advisors.
Collaborate with clinical partners to expand the proprietary dataset and validate model performance in clinical environments.
Provide technical leadership in investor conversations, pitch materials, and due diligence.
Build and lead the technical team as the company grows post-funding.
Participate in all major strategic decisions as a member of the founding team.

Required Qualifications

Higher degree with 5 years of experience
PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field, with a concentration in computer vision, machine learning, and/or artificial intelligence.
Demonstrated expertise in computer vision and ML, including hands-on experience deploying production models.
Prior experience as a co-founder or early hire at a technology startup that has reached a successful exit.
Demonstrated ability to operate at an early-stage company under conditions of resource constraint and ambiguity.
A clear personal commitment to improving outcomes in maternal health, menstrual health, or broader women's health.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience developing AI/ML-based medical devices, software as a medical device (SaMD) products, or clinical decision support software (CDS).
Familiarity with FDA regulatory requirements for AI/ML medical devices and/or CDS.
A personal connection to maternal health or menstrual health, whether through lived experience, the experience of a close family member, or sustained professional commitment to the space.
Prior experience raising institutional venture capital.

Compensation

This is a co-founder equity role. The selected candidate will receive a significant founding equity stake. A full-time salary will be established upon close of the company's next funding round; timing and amount will be subject to the terms of that raise. The compensation structure is intended to align long-term incentives across the founding team.

Time Commitment

Minimum 10 to 15 hours per week to start, with the expectation of a transition to a full-time commitment when the company closes its first funding round. The role is remote with flexibility on schedule, especially in the beginning.
