Description

Role

The CEO is Lumer's operating co-founder. While the Strategy Lead holds the model, the CEO holds the ground — the markets, the partners, the vendors, the team, and the execution. Every plan that exists on paper becomes real or fails based on what the CEO does in the field.

Duties and Responsibilities

Market association partnerships are the CEO's primary relationship. Identifying the right clusters, building trust with association leadership, negotiating and signing MOUs, and managing those relationships through the pilot and beyond. This is the most consequential operational relationship Lumer has.

Pre-pilot execution is end-to-end CEO ownership — from the day installation begins through the first full 12-week payment cycle. Supervising the installer, coordinating trader onboarding, managing the Field Ops Lead and Association Liaison, and making sure the system goes live on schedule and runs cleanly.

Vendor management covers SteamaCo, Moniepoint, and the installation partner. Negotiating contracts, holding vendors to timelines and quality standards, and managing procurement against the funding schedule.

Fundraising execution means leading the Shell LiveWIRE application as primary applicant, and working jointly with the Strategy Lead on TEF and all subsequent grant programmes. The CEO is also Lumer's external face — to partners, government bodies, media, and future investors.

Field team oversight is direct management of the Field Ops Lead and Association Liaison — weekly reporting, issue escalation, and keeping daily operations running without the founding team intervening in routine matters.

Requirements

Recent graduate, NYSC completed, under 28. Full-time availability. Uyo-based or genuinely willing to relocate. Strong communicator who can pitch, negotiate, and build relationships at every level — from a market trader to a grant panel. Execution-oriented — closes things, doesn't just start them. Comfortable with ambiguity and early-stage uncertainty.

Expectations

The CEO is expected to be a genuine co-founder — present in strategic decisions, not just operational ones. They bring field intelligence back into the founding team, shape how the model adapts based on what they're seeing on the ground, and hold equal standing with the Strategy Lead and CTO on major decisions. The expectation is full commitment, full ownership, and the maturity to lead a small team under pressure before there is a salary to show for it.
