This is not an advisory role. You will build, hands-on.

What you will own
  • Technical direction and execution: architecture decisions, stack evolution, engineering standards
  • Agent reliability system: evaluation harness, regression prevention, error/failure taxonomy, monitoring/logging
  • Production discipline: CI/CD, testing strategy, safe releases, incident readiness
  • Platform foundations to scale: multi-tenant fundamentals, security posture, cost/latency controls
  • Hiring plan and technical culture post-funding (you don’t need to hire now, but you set the bar)
Must-have requirements (non-negotiable)
  • Hands-on builder with a track record of shipping and maintaining production systems
  • Real agentic AI experience beyond prompting: A) tools/function calling, orchestration/state, reliability work, B) evals/regression control + operational monitoring, C) clear understanding of failure modes and how to contain them
  • High-agency startup operator: fast, calm under pressure, accountable, low ego
  • Uses AI aggressively in day-to-day engineering with quality controls (tests, review discipline, measurable outcomes)
  • Equity-first now; no salary until funding. Able to commit ~3 hours/day now (or equivalent).
Preferred (negotiable)
  • Deep SaaS architecture experience (multi-tenant at scale, security depth, billing/entitlements)
  • Prior founder/CTO experience
  • Strong product sense (translates outcomes into technical milestones)
Compensation
  • Cofounder-level equity (vesting-based; depends on fit and commitment). For exceptional fit and commitment, equity can be up to ~30%.
  • No salary until pre-seed; salary starts after funding.
